News: New Haven Register review of David's exhibit at Hull's Gallery, New Haven Beinecke Aquires Iowa Prints The Yale Collection of Western Americana at the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library at Yale U. has agreed to purchase from New Haven photographer David Ottenstein 300 exhibition-quality prints of the architectural landscape of rural Iowa... [read more] David was selected to participate in Radius: Professional Practice Series for Artists, organized by The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in conjunction with the Ridgefield Guild of Artists. An exhibition of the work of the 6 selected artists opened in Ridgefield, CT on January 24, 2009 at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists. Current and Recent Exhibits: Hull's Gallery, One Whitney Avenue, New Haven. On view through February 26, 2010. IMAGES 2010 - Juried Statewide Connecticut show, Honorable Mention, 2/2010 "Out of House and Home" - Parachute Factory Gallery, New Haven, October 2009-February 2010. “Below the Surface: A 21st Century Look at the Prairie” - Faulconer Gallery, Grinnell College, Iowa, June – September, 2009. Press: Article in New Haven Magazine Radio Interview: Interview with photographer David Ottenstein, Project Progress: Trip number nine to Iowa, July and August 2009, included several weeks photographing in Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming and Nebraska. During his trip to Iowa in the summer of 2008, David also spent time photographing in Colorado and Wyoming. David was in Iowa in the fall of 2007. He also spent several weeks exploring South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota and a bit of Missouri. David's fifth trip to Iowa was in May and June of 2007. Work from his previous trip (July 2006) is available online at PhotoShelter.com . David's second visit was in September 2005 to continue his project photographing the vanishing architectural landscape of the American Midwest. The trip was funded in part by a grant from the Iowa Arts Council and the Center for Prairie Studies at Grinnell College.

December '03 - January '04: " Forgotten Spaces ," a solo show featuring David's recent photographs of abandoned and neglected spaces was exhibited simultaneously at The Naples Studio in Stratford and at The Gallery at Triple Point in Westport, CT. Images 2003 Juried Photography Show , March 2003. David's portfolio was awarded First Honors. October 16 through November 30, 2002 - An exhibit of David's black and white photographs at the Cheshire Public Library . Old buildings and aging industrial machinery, including very recent work. His work was part of a group show at the Daniel Azoulay Gallery in Miami, Florida, in October 2002. David's first solo show was at the Atlantic Gallery in Hamden, Connecticut, in March, 2002. The Connecticut Jewish Ledger newspaper published a feature article on David in March, 2002, marking David Ottenstein Photography's twenty years in business. David's work was part of a group show at the Daniel Azoulay Gallery in Miami, Florida, Fall 2001. David has been a regular contributor to the " Off the Wall " show, an exciting, annual community event that raises funds for the Arts Council of Greater New Haven.
